Roslansky said laid-off employees who are benefit-eligible in the United States will receive severance pay, continuing health coverage and career transition aid - LinkedIn will try to help employees find new roles at the company, “if there’s a skill fit.” The company did not answer SFGATE’s questions on the scale of severance pay or plan to increase the use of vendors, a term which often refers to cheap, contracted labor. InCareer, which doesn’t have a social feed, is slated to shutter by August 9, but the company said it will still operate some business in China, including corporate training. He blamed the phaseout of InCareer, LinkedIn’s year-and-a-half-old jobs app for China, on “fierce competition and a challenging macroeconomic climate.” The firm Maimai and local job board sites in China proved difficult competition for LinkedIn, which joins other American tech firms in largely retreating from the country.
